What's Your Take - Assessments: Boon or Bane?

Starting this year, MOE has planned for a series of face-to-face public engagement sessions that are anchored on different education topics. Through this series of sessions, we hope to provide the public with a platform to understand diverse views and share their perspectives on various education topics.
 

Principal's Letter April 2019

It has been an eventful term for many Saints as they reap the fruits of their labour through the CCA tournaments and competitions that they have participated in. The highlight for the term is certainly the Saints Learning Festival (SLF). SAJS is indeed thankful for the dedication from our staff and the support from parents and stakeholders, in providing these amazing learning experiences for our Saints.

Dear Parents,

MOE has recently launched the Parents Gateway app to enable parents to interact with schools more conveniently on administrative matters (view MOE press release). Parents will also be able to use this app to stay updated on school’s programme and activities.

Subject Based-Banding

Every child is unique, and has different aptitudes, capabilities and talents. Our schools believe in providing a balanced education that caters to the different abilities of each child so that we can prepare him for life.

Subject-based Banding (Pri) was introduced as a refinement to the streaming process to help each child realise his potential, based on his strengths and needs.

School Homework Policy

The purpose of homework is to support the teaching in class and provide opportunities for pupils to apply the knowledge and skills learnt in the classroom. It will enable pupils to realise their responsibility for independent learning and strengthen their good study habits and skills.

Homework should also serve as a form of formative assessment to provide valuable feedback for learning.
